Cost effective means of having Health care plan
May 23rd, 2008 | by admin |Many people in the USA are looking for more affordable health care owing to the continued increase in premiums. Workers are being hit hard by employers anxious to save money on their premiums by reducing cover or passing on the rises in cost. How do I know this, well because I am one of those people affected and despite a very good job, before 2006, the health care package at work was first rate. My employer called us into a meeting and announced that he was switching health care providers because it was too expensive. To make the system fair to everyone, the health care provider would need to change. Many people I've spoken to are happy with the new insurance and that I am just as well provided for. It's not that I'm against the company trying to save money and make it more equal but twice the amount is now taken from my paychecks each month so that the rest of my family can be on the policy. Taking a good deal less home in my paycheck to have my family remain on the healthcare policy seems to be the only option I have because almost everyone else is happy with the new arrangement. My health care may still be very good despite the fact that the old company was much better than this new one. For many of us, higher out of pocket expenses and less in our paychecks is the only result of this pursuit of an affordable health care plan. I am sure of this because just over 2 years ago when I had my little boy, the stay in hospital was completely covered by my insurance policy. This new plan, under similar circumstances however, would personally cost me in excess of 5,000 dollars. You also have to bear in mind that this additional expense is just the hospital bill and doesn't include the additional work fees I must now pay. There is obviously a market for these schemes because more and more affordable health care options are becoming available. Those less fortunate can now get free health care more readily and workers without health care are able to join special schemes. I applaud the set up of these programs but not enough is done to stop those that wish to take advantage and ruin it for others.I feel sorry for those in genuine need of affordable health care who must look around and see others who are just sponges on the system: a financial burden to the state. Although I say they can be a burden to the state, I really mean a burden to its citizens because it is the tax payer who foots the bill. Ok, so some of the employees where I work have benefited but the real winner was my company. All too often this happens where the only one that really benefits is the company, who seem quite happy that many of their employees will take home less. We have a responsibility here in America to providing some sort of affordable health care for those that need it most. Nothing is quite better than prevention; therefore, having water filter to improve the quality of water would then be useful.
