Learn about a joint revocable living trust

September 21st, 2009 | by admin |

I just learned about something I’ve never heard about before.  I asked my parents if they had ever created a will because I was concerned that they had not planned out their finances in the event of their untimely death.  Not only had they adequately prepared, but they had set up a joint revocable living trust.  After learning what it was, I knew that their preparation was excellent.  This type of trust will help them avoid the court-supervised probate process, and it also has tax benefits, among other things.  I am really proud of them for taking this step.  If your parents haven’t considered this, then tell them about it and encourage them to.
