Millions of amateur poets submit their works daily to newspapers, magazines and websites, hoping that their poems will get chosen for publication. With all these literary gems to choose from, there will only be a very slim chance that your work will get chosen by poetry publishing companies for inclusion in their next issue. In order to improve your chances of getting published, you have to make sure your poems are relevant to the publication and are of interest to its readers. For instance, your poem on faith may have a better chance in the church newsletter while your verses about the upcoming elections will be more likely to be published in the local paper.
